Walk the Line

Director: James Mangold

Writers: Gill Dennis, James Mangold, Johnny Cash(book)

Stars: Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, Ginnifer Goodwin

Walk the Line is a movie based on the life of Musician Johnny Cash. The Movie takes you from Cash being a little kid and his brothers death all the way through his career. During his rise to fame, Cash became heavily addicted to drugs and struggled to keep his music career going.

I thought this was a good movie, it showed his life really good. It really showed his battle with drugs and how he changed throughout his life.

Catch Me If You Can (2002)

Catch Me If You Can (2002)

Director: Steven Spielberg

Writers: Jeff Nathanson, Frank Abagnale Jr.

Stars:Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks and Christopher Walken.

Genre: Biopic

Cathch me if you can is a story about a high schooler Frank Ablaganle Jr. during the 1960. He idolizes his father, who's in trouble with the IRS. When his parents separate, Frank runs away to Manhattan with $25 in his checking account. He's posed as a Pan Am pilot, a pediatrician, and an attorney. well the hole time he is cashing fake checks. Mean wile the FBI is tracking him down.

I believe that they did a good job in truning this true story into something entertaining and meaning full. It showes how some people can get away with crimes for so long and not get cought. One thing i took away from this movie is that no matter how slick you are, no matter how good you think you are in the end you will always get cought.

8 mile

This movie is based on the true life story of marshall m mathers also known as eminem, staring the actual character. 8 mile takes place in Detroit Michigan in the 90s, where Eminems hometown is located. its about a very poor kid named B-rabbit, is struggling with his job and to make ends meet, He competes in a rap battle called the shelter, and chokes the first time he gets on stage and then gets booed off stage. He is stuggling to make ends meet for his little sister and himself, getting fired from countless jobs, he then ends up finding a job at a car factory and moves in with his mom who is an alcoholic.
I enjoyed watching the film incredibly, its based on a true story of making it from nothing to somthing, In my opinion i think it was amazing that someone being a minority and having to go up against all odds and then suddenly making the outcome in his favor really tells if you want somthing badly enough and are willing to fight for it hard enough you will get what you need. This very rapper/artist has changed the way hiphop and even the music industry has been, this movie tells a story of a man who wants nothing more then respect, and will take every chance he has to get it.

Soul Surfer

Director: Sean McNmara

Written By: Sean McNamara and Deborah Schwartz

Starring: Annasophia Robb, Dennis Quaid, and Helen Hunt

Soul Surfer tells the story of Bethany Hamilton (Annasophia Robb) who was a champion in surfing. While in the water one day she get attacked by a shark and her arm gets bitten off. After having to be rushed to the hospital by family friend Holt she stays calm and begins to learn to do things with only one arm. When she first gets into the water again its hard for her to get it at first but she doesn't give up, and begins to prepare for her next competition.

I thought the movie was interesting and brought the story to attention again. The actors made it seem very realistic by really acting like they were in the situation. Annasophia made it seem like she really didn't have the arm, Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt were great at acting like Annasophia was there kid and she had her arm taken off. The inciting incident was pretty obvious it was when she got her arm got bit off. I liked the movie because up until this movie came out i never heard of her story.

The Social Network

The Social Network (2010)
Directed by: David Fincher
Written by: Aaron Sorkin
(Screenplay), Ben Mezrich (Book)
Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake
Genre: Biography | Drama

After a Harvard University student gets dumped by his girlfriend he decides to write a mean blog post all about her. This thought made him come up with an on-campus website that would rate girls based on looks. The Social Network tells the story of Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of one of the largest social networking sites online. After hacking Harvard's system and finding out this is leading him to success he decides to expand and branch out his website all over the country. The success he gains with his website, The Facebook, leads him to crazy parties, cocaine incidents, and a fight with co-founder and best friend Eduardo Saverin. It also leads to two million dollar lawsuits.

I think The Social Network got way more attention the it really should. I believe the reason was that by the time the film was out many people had a Facebook account. People wanted to know how this big social phenomena started. It is said that the idea behind the story is indeed true but it has some exaggerations. Most characters, like Sean Parker, were made to look like assholes.

Notorious(2009)Drama

Director-George Tillman Jr

Drama

"From ashy to classy"-Juicy,Notorious is a movie based on the arguably greatest highly respected rap icon EVER in the history of hip-hop.It commemorates the hip hop soilders life through the ups and down, from poverty sticken up bringings to fame and startdom. You will be able to witness this rollercoaster of a life that was tragiclly ended way too soon. Even 15 years later they still dont know what happened so they say,but i dont think the goverment wants black people to have the satisfaction of knowing who B.I.G.'s killer is.WATCH,ENJOY,WITNESS,BE MOVED,and give an hour and a half of your life to pay your respects to Biggy Smalls.

I for one think this was a great movie,an inspirational movie even.Admittedly it did have some parts or events that i thought they could have went more into detail with but for the most part i would reccomend this movie weather your a B.I.G. fan or just want to see a good movie. The casting crew did an amazing job i would say the characters looked very similar to who they were trying to portray. Even the acting was on point. I know they actually had ther real people helping out the actors play them, well besides 2pac,and Biggy of course. Even though they were lacking them there was close family and friends helping. They even went to the real settings of where early Gig took place growing up. All around I would give this an A,and nothing less because even if there was some tings i would have wanted to know more about i could really see the effort they put into the film.

His father goes bankrupt and they lose everything but he still tries to teach George that money isn't important. Eventually George moves to California with his friend and he meets drug connects. He sarts buying and selling weed in mass amounts, making lots of money. Things only go well for so long though, this movie is based on George Jungs life and whats he's been through. I think it's a great movie and had a lot of good aspects about it. He's a G drug kingpin

Pursuit of Happiness (2007)

The Pursuit of Happiness is based on a true story of Chris Gardner's period of life struggles. After a failed investment in selling bone scanners, which dug a big whole in the family financially, Chris's wife, Linda, leaves him and moves to New York. Chris is left with his son and no "real" job. While trying to sell his scanner downtown, he runs into a manager for Dean Witter(Jay Twistle). Desperate to get a job, Chris impresses Mr. Twistle by solving a rubiks cube. Chris gets the chance to be an intern stockbroker. Everything seems fine until the rest of his money is taken by the IRS. This causes Chris and his son to be evicted, forcing them to sleep at shelters and a bathroom at a subway station. Will he get the job??

I think they did a perfect job on the film. they showed stressful situations that were REAL and REALISTIC. It shows that if you really try and have hope, you can make it. This movie is realistic because it shows struggles related to most of americans today, jobless and homelessness.

The Blind Side (2009)

Director : John Lee Hancock
Writers : John Lee Hancock, Micheal Lewis

Stars : Quinton Aaron, Sandra Bullock and Tim Mcgraw

"The Blind Side" tells a story about a young homeless teenager Micheal Oher struggling with life, and how a caring wealthy women helps and shows him the love of football . This movie is a Biopic of an all American NFL player and how he was uplifted out of poverty and found a new family . He had many obstacles and problems but either way it went him and his new family sent him to be the number one pick of the NFL draft pick .

"The Blind Side" really did capture the life of Micheal Oher . I like how the Director made the feeling realistic . You wish to keep rooting for Micheal and share his stuggle as he trys to keep his real mom and his old mom . You feel all his emotions , and the others as well . There was no over-dramatic twist that other Biopics trys to put in : you can really tell that the screen writer really had to work on this and to expose the truth . The actors really showed how they tried to support one of another as a family and you can see the chemistry . The scenery and sets up really made you fell Micheals transformation . From low proverty apartments to high up-scale mansions . This movie will really touch your heart .

Wicker Park

mathew
is convinced that Lisa, the girl he sees in a cafe, is his long lost love. Throughout the movie, he puts his career to the side as he tries to find her. He finds out where Lisa lives, but it is another girl who claims her name is also Lisa. After multiple times of failed searches and flashbacks, Matthew starts to doubt himself about Lisa.. but never stopped looking her. This movie is filled with drama and mysteries.

What made the romance in Wicker Park real was that Matt never gave up looking for Lisa and that he went for what he really wanted. The director, Paul McGuigan , shows how happy and natural Matt and Lisa were together in the short flashbacks Matt has throughout the movie. I also thought it was realistic how Matthew only had short, certain flashbacks. This was understadable since him and Lisa loved eachother 2 years ago.

50 first dates

The plot about the is true love. Where Adam Sandler falls in love with Drew barrymore who works at a waffle shop in a little tropical island with her friends and family all working their to. So Adam takes this girl on a date. 50 first dates to be correct, and her dad and her brother try so hard to stop it but they cant. So in the end he either finds true love and gets the girl or doesnt.

The possibility for their romance was that Sandler kept trying and didnt give up and he then finally showed her dad and brother that he was the one for her. These two people are trying to show that true love is anywhere if you just work for it. It was a great movie and a good story plot.

How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

(2003)
Directed by :
Donald Petrie
Written by: Michele Alexander
Kristen Buckley
Brian Regan

Starring : Kate Hudson

Matthew McConaughey and Adam Goldberg

The movie "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" is about A guy named Benjamin Barry and a girl named Andie Anderson . Benjamin Berry is a hot shot advertising executive ; who makes a bet with his co - workers that he can win a bet to have a girl fall in love with him in 10 days . Andie Anderson works for a magazine , and she wishes to become a journalist who writes about the importance in things . She then finds herself trying to help a friend and making an agreement to lose a guy in 10 days . They Both shortly meet and compete to win their bets without either one of them knowing .

In "How to Lose a Guy In 10 Days" I like how the movie captured how easily a relationship can start even with both partners having different intentions . for instance Benjamin Berry Tried everything to be as smooth as possible and put up with things a "ladies man" like himself would never tolerate . Then Andie Anderson Tried to act like she was the perfect girl and do everything right , then later mess everything up and become to "emotional and clingy" . Through out the 10 days of their scheming and games they couldn't but help fall in love with the game .
