Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

2004
Genre: Romance, Drama, Science-Fiction, Comedy
Director: Michel Gondry
Screenwriter: Charlie Kaufman
Starring: Jim Carey, Kate Winslet, Elijah Wood, Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo
The movie is a well directed and well acted story about a man erases his memory of a woman who did the same to him first. I would recommend it if you like love stories with a little more drama and less of the usual kiss kiss blah blah. If your not one who likes a non-chronological narrative as it may get confusing if any sequences or misunderstood.
Questions
Would you ever consider erasing a memory of anything?
How would you react if you found out you had spent years with someone and had no memory of it but you knew it once happened?

The Uninvited (2009)

The Uninvited

Year: 2009

Genre: Horror, Drama,Thriller

Director: Charles Guard , Thomas Guard

Screenwritters: Craig Rosenberg, Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard

Starring: Emily Browning, Elizabeth Banks

I do not recommend this movie my first reason would be it was a dumb movie to begin with. It's suppose to be a horror movie. The movie didn't make me jump even once. I know horror movies are pointless and dumb but atleast they made me jump and get a little bit scare. Unlike this one. My second reason would be because I hated the facted that everything got revealed in the end. I think it would of been way better if it would of revealed little by little.

Why would they use a Drama genre with a Horror genre? Would it made a difference if they use a different genre other than Drama or Thriller?

Would the movie been better if it had different actors? or a different director? and if so why?

Ghost World

Year: 2001

Genre: Comedy, Drama

Director: Terry Zwigoff

Screenwriter: Daniel Clowes

Starring: Thora Birch, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Buscemi

Two reasons I would recommend this film are 1) it is engaging, hilarious, and at the same time portrays an in-depth and realistic study of it's characters. And 2) the main character Enid (Thora Birch) is highly relate-able as a young person who has just graduated from high school and has no idea what to do with her life and her new found independence.

Two questions:

This movie is based on a comic created by Daniel Clowes, who is also the screenwriter for the film. Do you think films based on books are generally better when the original author has a prominent role in the production of the movie?

This movie was also one of Scarlett Johansson's first starring roles before she became an A-list celebrity. Do you think good actors have always been good actors or does their actoring get better over time and with more experience? What are some examples of this?

As the team figures it out the put on a season like no other with off and on closer "Wild thing" Ricky Vaughn fear for more than just his pitching. Its a must see for any sports fan.

Joe Cabot, a small-time crime boss, gets five strangers with reputations as good thieves to steal a lot diamonds. When the police arrive at the scene before the burglars can even make their getaway, it becomes apparent that one of them is an undercover police officer.
This flick is great for people who like unique dialogue and an interesting plot that keeps the viewer watching. With likable characters all around it really ties the whole feel of the film together. From the conversation in the diner in the beginning to the cringing slicing of the ear of a hostage cop, this movie is guarrented to keep the viewer entertained to the twist of an ending.

i give this movie ***1/2 stars

people say Quentin Tarantino has a certain style of making movies, does he stay true his norm?

Quentin Tarantino won the 1992 Sitges - Catalonian International Film Festival best director award, did he deserve it?

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

(January 23, 2009)

Genre: Action, Fantasy, Horror, Thriller

The biggest reason that i can think of, why you should go see this movie is, because of all the action! there is soo much fighting and a lot of cool gory scenes. Served fresh, just the way you like them!!

The second reason you should go see it, is because it has one of the best types of romances. You have a girl of one race, who has fallen in love with a guy from a total other race and they hide their love from EVERYONE!!.... i dont think daddy would be all too happy.

If you could change what the lycans look like to look more like the second movie, would you?

Do you think it was worth it to make a prequeal of the frst 2 movies, to help you understand the whole story behind the war between the Vampires or Lycans?

Mall Cop

Year: 2009

Genre: Action/Comedy/Crime/Family

Director: Steve Carr

Screenwriter: Kevin James & Nick Bakay

Starring: Kevin James & Keir O'Donnell

1) A good reason why i think some of my classmates might want to see this movie could be because, this movie has alot of funny parts, he's a cool actor, and i think they'll enjoy it.

2) A reason why maybe they'll wont see this movie is that, I think it needed some more inspiration, and maybe a little bit more of a story to it also. A better plot. Maybe?

*Do you think Paul Bart, also starring on the T.V. show the King of Queens, could be as good in a mall cop movie?

*What other opinions do you have on the actor Kevin James?

The Uninvited

Elizabeth Banks , David Strathairn ,

Maya Massar , and Lex Burnharn

Introduction : The movie begins with a young girl, Anna (Emily browning), making out with her boyfriend, Matt on the beach at a party. After he tells her he loves her and that he "has a condom", she gets up and leaves without saying a single word. As she goes, her sister Alex (Arielle Kebbel) asks if everything is all right. She walks past her sister Alex, hesitated to answer and on into the woods towards her house. On her way through the woods to her house, Anna encounters three white garbage bags laying in the middle of the muddy floor. When she goes to open them, the corpse of a redheaded girl falls out. As Anna recoils, the girl's head snaps around and speaks. Anna runs home. Upon arriving, she hears the bell that her mother, who is terminally ill, rings when she needs some assistance. Anna is concerned because her mother is not supposed to be alone. However, after she leaves the boathouse her mother is in, it explodes into flames ! All of a sudden a piece of debris comes flying towards her, burning her. It is then revealed that this is a dream Anna is having. . .

- The movie was horrible. It coulda have been better. It says dat its as terrifying as 'the ring'
but honestly the ring was WAYY more scary and had a more better storyline behind it.
so um...from a scale 1 - 5 for The Uninvited ; i'd pretty much say 3. - A.V.

The Reader

Year: 2008
Genre: Romance
Director: Stephen Daldry (The Hours, Billy Elliot)
Screenwriter: David Hare (The Hours, Damage)
Starring: Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes

Two Reasons Why You Should See It: 1) It's a romance movie that takes place in the past and isn't boring because it switches back and forth between 1995, the 1950s, and the 1960s. 2) Kate Winslet is one of the best actresses of her generation, playing a character that very believably was both once a Nazi prison guard and an incredibly loving girlfriend to the film's main character, Michael.

Two Questions: 1) Have you ever seen a World War II movie that focuses on what happened after the war instead of what happened during it? 2) Kate Winslet won her first Golden Globe for this role. Did she deserve it for another earlier movie in her career?
