Director: Antoine Fuqua
Writer: David Ayer
Stars:Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke and Scott Glenn
DRAMA

Welcome to training day. This will take you on a dad y in the life of the new kid in the police force being trained in by a dirty cop. Wchich is played by non other than the very well respected denzel washington. His role actually won him a oscar and is now days arguably his best role ever. You will be on the edge of your seat through the whole film not because its an crazy aaction movie or a thriller, but because its a very intense and personal movie. Everybody knows that theres crooked cops but thtis will actually put you in his shoes.

The film is a very dark and intense. You could say its gloomy but i think that would be too soft of a word to descibe this gritty movie. The cop is an obviously troubled man. The thing thats so interesting about the film is that denzell is so calm and smooth with everything. Eventhough theres chaos hes a very calm, conniving, and munipliative person throughout the whole thing. I loved the movie it was great. It may not be a thinking movie as in theres different dementions to it and theres a crazy plot at the end to it,but its a thinking movie because this is reality these things actually happened. So if somebody asked me if i would recommend this i would say is my teacher polly amovie nerd(no offense) OF COURSE i would recommend this.:)

Jennifer's Body

Jennifer's Body (2009)

Directed by: Karyn Kusama

Written by: Diablo Cody

Staring: Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody

Anita Lesnicki was once your regular teen with a boyfriend and her best friend by her side. Now Anita is a mental inmate in solitary confinement after a rare incident with her best friend. Jennifer is your typical girl next door, seductive and gorgeous. Despite all their differences and having nothing in common Jennifer and Annita are best friends. After both girls attend a concert at a bar, Jennifer starts acting really strange towards everyone. On some days she look her normal, beautiful self and on others she looks exhausted and slowly decaying. We find out about the events that led to this thrilling disaster.

Jennifer's Body is a perfect example of "Femme Fatale". Megan Fox plays a seductive role and ends up feeding off of men. Jennifer's Body had a ton of mixed reviews. Personally I really enjoed it. It's a black comedy so even though it has some gore I found it funny. I guess people didn't quite understand the black comedy part of the movie. The movie is dark and has lots of blood but you can't take it seriously. Its funny to me. Another reason why people did not like the movie was that Megan Fox did not show her body as much as people wanted to. Personally I'm fine with that!

LakeView terrace

2008 Director Neil LaBute,Writers: David Loughery (screenplay), Howard Korder.
Starring Samuel L Jackson, Patrick Wilson, Kerry Washington.

The movie i am posting is lakeview terrace, this movie stars samuel l jackson, patrick wilson and kerry washington, directed by neil labute. The plot of the movie is a couple (Patrick wilson and kerry washington) that moves onto the block (Lakeview terrace), they are greeted by a nieghbor of theirs (samuel l jackson) who is a cop and welcomes them to the block, one day the couple were skinny dipping in their hot tub one night, and one Abel turner's kids had seen them and told him, he then gets agrivated and tells the couple about what his childern saw last night.

I love this movie it presents how the cop cant be tormented because he is a police officer so the law is on his side more than other people. It shows how one man turns from a good cop to bad cop by directing all his hate towards a couple he doesn't like and almost gets away with trying to murder them, he hates crime so much that people who get on his nerves, he starts to think of as the bad guys, he is a very strict person especially around his house and around his children.

war

war starts off with 2 cops and they are good friends .and they are looking for someone and they killed well thought they did. and the guy who they were looking for theyguy they thought that died. came to kill the asain guy and so he dies and his friend trys to find the person who killed his friend .and later feww months the guy who died the asain he gets a face surgen and truned into jet li and jet li is the one who kills that bad people and his friend doesnt know its him and the cop trys to kill him but later in the end he finds out who it is .....

my oppinon is that this movie was really good and that it has a good story and it gets confusing but in the end it makes it a good movie and lots of action and blood and lots and the most i like about this movie is jet li my favor actor action person.he does his own stunt.
hes really good even jason s.this movie is like the other movie in the 1940 but its better and its like with in undercoiver cop whos killing the bad but u think jet li is bad but hes just trying to get at the people who are the bad in the citys ...

This movie is dark and down beat with alot of in a loving evil way. Brandi successfully lures Darnell in with her sexuality and nice gifts and in her head he belongs to her and that their togther but in his she is just a friend. This big confusion on both of their parts not only puts them both in harms way but puts Darnell's girlfriend Mia in harms way also. Darnell really wants to be with me Mia but he isnt sure if he should because of the situation with Brandi which leads up to one believable outcome.

Deja Vu

Deja Vu (2006)
Director: Tony Scott

Stars: Denzel Washington . Paula Patton . Jim Caviezel

The movie "Deja Vu' is about a special ATF agent trying to solve a murder of a women and a terrorist attack. Hes convinced they're linked . He ends up traveling back in time trying to figure out the cases in a certain amount of time. He fights all these obstacles and all these untwisting events . He soon falls in love with the women .

This movie really captures the genre Film Noir , you feel like your in it . Denzel washington really know his role . Hes like strict yet a passionate detective . How his character plays in with the story is intriguing ; he shows how hes all about his work then hes fighting to save a girl that's suppose to be murdered all because he fell in love with her . The plot has very twisting events , you would feel as if it was so predictable then out of no where a very astonishing event would tie in place . The movie makes you want to jump in and slove the case yoursself , the movie really is intense .

Money Talks

Franklin Hatchett (Chris Tucker), a carwash hustler who accidentally took part in escaping a prison vehicle, and James Russell (Charlie Sheen), a news repoter who just got fired, are trying to help each other out in life after some problems. The two rampage throughout the city to try and clear Hatchett's name. Russell's name gets involved and spreads all over the news. the process of trying to clear both their names. Hatchett and Russell has to avoid cops, but 1 cop wants more then just to catch Hatchett..

I really enjoyed this movie. i liked it because.... well i like Chris Tucker in general! In almost every movie he's in, he's always happy most of the time. throughtout "Money Talks" even though he is in deep stuff, you see him smiling at the things he goes through, but he is always trying to find a way to clear his name. He just gives the storyline a comedic touch.

Sunset Boulevard (1950)

Sunset Boulevard (1950)
Directed by: Billy Wilder
Written by: Charles Brackett, Billy Wilder, & D.M. Marshman, Jr.
Starring: William Holden & Gloria Swanson
Genre: Film Noir

Your assignment: First, post two comments (meaningful and including your initials) on other people's romance movie blog posts. Then, write a two-paragraph blog post about a movie you've seen outside of class that either features an unconventional detective/cop and/or a femme fatale (check your notes!).

Paragraph 1 should describe the plot of the film, including the characters, up until the inciting incident (no spoilers!). For instance: Sunset Boulevard follows Joe Gillis, an out-of-work screenwriter who tells us at the beginning of the film that he is dead and floating in a pool. Through an extended flashback, we watch him evade the police from repossessing his car to repay his debts and then ditch his car in what he thinks is an abandoned garage. It turns out, however, that the attached mansion is actually the residency of former silent film star Norma Desmond. When the two meet and Desmond finds out Gillis writes movies, she wants him to help her stage a comeback, as she has become a washed-up has-been ever since the film industry started working in sound and talking actors. What happens after the two join forces is an uncomfortable, twisted, and often dark tale of fame, strange love, and insanity.

Paragraph 2 should include your opinion of the film and answer the questions: How is the film dark and downbeat like film noir was when it first started out in the 1940s? Is the main character (the detective or the one who unravels the mystery) unconventional in a way that's entertaining and yet still believable? Is the female character a successful femme fatale, meaning does she lure both the viewer and the protagonist in only to turn out to be bad? Example: This movie is dark and downbeat in a much more subtle and unique way than your average film noir. Joe is not a gloomy detective or crooked cop, but both he and Norma show the underbelly of Hollywood for what it is - a merciless business in which the next best thing is always being sought after and many good souls get left behind. They're both essentially good people, but they're pushed to bizarre circumstances when neither of their lives are looking that great. Sure, from the beginning you see Norma as the much weirder of the two, but you never expect where the story is going or how much further Joe is going to let (or should let) Norma drag him into her isolated world of depression and delusion.
